1. Check your email: After purchasing, you’ll receive an email containing a link to activate your data bundle. Click it to get started.
2. Portal access: Didn’t get the email? No worries! You can head straight to our activation portal at data.pocketroam.com and use the email address you used at purchase to access your eSIM.
3. Activate & scan: Once you’ve activated your bundle through the link or portal, you’ll receive a QR code. Simply scan this QR code using your QR-enabled smartphone to install the eSIM.
4. Enable data roaming: Go to your phone settings and turn on data roaming for the installed eSIM.

Data speeds can vary based on the country you're in and the local carrier providing the service. However, Pocket Roam aims to provide each destination's fastest available data speeds. Generally, you can expect:

1. 5G Speeds: The 5G network is available in many urban areas.
2. 4G/LTE Speeds: You'll likely experience fast 4G or LTE speeds in most urban and populated areas.
3. 3G Speeds: In rural or less populated areas, 3G speeds are more common but offer reliable and functional connectivity for most uses.

It's important to note that data speed may also be influenced by your phone's capabilities and current network congestion. Network congestion, which occurs when many users are trying to access the network at the same time, can slow down data speeds. This is a common issue in crowded areas or during peak usage times.

Unlimited Throttling
Please note that unlimited plans are often throttled after 1GB per 24 hour session and reset after each 24 hour period. Throttling is based on the policies of the local network in which you are travelling.

Absolutely! You can easily renew your eSIM bundle or even add extra destinations without getting a new eSIM. Here’s how:

1. Purchase a data bundle: Head over to the Pocket Roam website and purchase a data bundle that suits your needs.
2. Activate your bundle: Once you receive the confirmation email, you can activate your data bundle and assign it to your existing eSIM. There is no need to go through the eSIM setup again.

That’s it! Your eSIM will be renewed with the new data bundle, allowing you to continue enjoying seamless connectivity.

Pocket Roam eSIM bundles primarily focus on providing you with seamless data connectivity. As of now, our bundles don't include traditional voice calls or SMS text messages. However, you can easily make calls and send texts using various VoIP and messaging apps such as WhatsApp, Skype, and FaceTime, as long as you have a data connection. You can also make calls from your home sim card, just make you disable data roaming to avoid unwanted data charges.

Our eSIM will provide you with internet access in China just like any local SIM would. That means you may be subject to the same online restrictions, including the Great Firewall, depending on which provider your eSIM connects to. If you need to access blocked sites or services, you'll have to use a VPN, just like you would with a regular SIM card in China.
